How to print 5160 labels
- Choose Letter (8.5 × 11 in) paper and print at 100% / "Actual size". "Fit to page" shrinks the page and moves every label.
- Use the manual or bypass tray if your printer has one, and load one sheet at a time.
- Check the pack says your printer type: laser labels in a laser printer, inkjet labels in an inkjet.
- Print a test on plain paper first and hold it over a label sheet against a window.
- If everything is shifted the same way, use the printer alignment adjustment to correct it.
- Printing on 8160 inkjet sheets? Let the ink dry for a minute before you stack the sheet or peel the labels.
Still slightly off? Use the printer alignment test to correct it once for your printer.
If something prints wrong

5160 template questions
Is 8160 the same as 5160?
Yes, apart from the printer each one is made for. 5160 is a laser sheet and 8160 an inkjet sheet, and both have 30 labels of 1" × 2-5/8" in the same positions, so this template and its PDF print correctly on either. Buy the one that matches your printer: inkjet ink can smear on laser labels, and inkjet labels are not made for the heat inside a laser printer. The same layout is also sold as 18160, 5260 and 5960, among others.
How much text fits on a 5160 label?
Four lines at the default 12 pt, with room for about 29 characters of a typical address on each. A longer address is set smaller on that label only: five lines print at 10 pt, and up to eight fit at 6 pt, the smallest size. A label that still does not fit is highlighted in the preview so you can shorten it.
My list has more than 30 addresses. What happens?
The labels carry on over as many sheets as it takes, 30 to a sheet in the order of your list. The preview pages through them and the PDF has one page per sheet. To use up a part-used sheet first, open Position options and set "Start at label" to its first empty label, counting across and then down.
